Pa State Classic Qualifiers - Thursday, July 24, 2014

Congratulations to Derek Severns & Dan Laur for qualifying for the 2014 State Classic which will be held at the Susquehanna Flats on October 18 & 19 Derek qualified as a boater & Dan as a rider, good luck guys!

 
MCA/ PA B.A.S.S. State Event South Side July 18th and 19th - Monday, July 21, 2014

July 18th and 19th was the PA B.A.S.S. /MCA event on the three rivers out of South Side.  The rivers fish very, very tough to say the least.  After two days, Derek Severns ended up winning the MCA club event within the state event.  Mike Jones finished second and Brian Spencer was third.  Hope to see everyone at 10 mile this weekend for the open buddy event.

 
MCA to host a youth/adult event - Wednesday, July 09, 2014

August 2nd from 8am to 12noon at Sandy Lake. 

MCA will host a youth/adult fishing event.  If you would like to fish this event please contact Dan Mincin at 724-986-6557  this event is open to anyone that would like to fish, but boat numbers are limited so please contact Dan Mincin about this event.

 
Lake Arthur 6/29/14 - Monday, June 30, 2014

Mike Stefan won this past weekends MCA event, he had a three fish limit.  Great job Mike.  Second place was John Kline with one fish, but it was the right one! A 5.12 pound Lunker!  Derek Severns took third place.  Results and Points are updated.

 
MCA event #2 is in the books Yough Dam 6/21/14 - Monday, June 23, 2014

Yough Dam was won by Jigs, second place and lunker was John Kline, third place went to Dan Mincin.  Full results are up on our results page.

 
Potomac River comments - Sunday, June 08, 2014

I would like to thank Derek & Bob Severns for their efforts concerning the recent state tournament held at  the Potomac River. Not only did they bring all of the camp supplies, but also did the cooking!

Without this kind of help, MCA could not have enjoyed the weekend that we just had!

I would also like to thank all of the members who attended the tourney, Brad Bressler, Rocky Sirochman, Bob & Derek Severns, Dave Solties, Mike Henry, John Kline, & Dan Laur

 

 
5/24/14 Pyme MCA Event - Tuesday, May 27, 2014

The first MCA event of the year is in the books...Brian Spencer had the tournament lunker and the win.  Second place was Derek Severns, third was Jigs, fourth was Harry McChesney and rounding out the top 5 was Brad Bressler.  Full results and points are up under the results tab.  Photos are also up under the Photos page.  Thanks to everyone that made this event run as smooth as it did.  See you guys at Yough Dam 6/21.

Final Points, Totals, and results from Kinzua and Piney are up - Monday, October 07, 2013

 

Well the season is wrapped up...it seems like we just started!  Congrats to Dan Laur your 2013 Angler of the Year!  The points, totals and the top ten pages are up under the results tab.  Also, the results from our final two events are up, Kinzua and Piney Dam.  Dave Solties won Kinzua with the only limit of bass at the event, Harry McChesney won Piney Dam and had a 3.30 lunker!

The winter meetings start November 10th please make it a point to be at that meeting, and please keep in mind 2014 dues are due by the December meeting.  Try to pay your dues in November if possible.

Guys, I just wanted to take a minute to give you a little advice....if you need any help with your electronics or your are thinking about purchasing new electronics, Hummingbird 360, or touch screen Lowanrce unit.  Please do yourself a favor and stop by Three Rivers Marine Electronics in Elizabeth PA on Route 51.  I have stopped in there a number of times and they always have what I need, they are a supporter of the BASS Nation, KBBC and are involved in our sport!  Support the people that support us!  Shop local and spend local...check them out if you need help, they are great.  They also have a full line of batteries, marine and boat care products and Dobyns Rods.

Lake Erie boating requirements - Thursday, September 13, 2012

FYI to all MCA members who plan on bringing a boat to our upcoming tourneys on Lake Erie:

1. A boat must have a type 1,2,3 or 5 life jacket for every person on board

2. A type 4 throwable device must also be aboard & be "immediately" available which means within arms reach of the passengers of the vessel

3. Persons who will operate the boat & were born after 1/1/82 must have a boaters safety education course certificate

4. All boats less than 40' in length must carry a sound producing device on board. This device can be a mouth ( whistle ) or power operated

5. Boats 16' & over must at all times carry  visual distress signals on board day or night. Approved day/night use VDS devices would be coast guard approved hand held flares ( minimum 3 ) & the expiration date must not have passed

6. A type B-1 fire extinguisher is required & must be" immediately " available ( within arms reach ) of the passengers of the vessel
