This saturday marks the first district/mingo creek event of 2012.  Do not forget to turn in your weigh slips to Mike Stefan prior to leaving the event.  If you can not find Mike give your slips to Dan Laur or Derek Severns and they will make sure that Mike gets them. 

IF YOU DONT TURN IN YOUR SLIP TO ONE THE THREE PEOPLE LISTED YOU WILL NOT RECIEVE YOUR POINTS FROM THIS EVENT.

The points and results are up from this past weekend, photos will be up soon.  Even if you are signed up for the district event this up coming weekend, let your TD know you will be there to recieve your show points.

Please do not forget to call/email your tournament director a minimum of 48hrs. before the start of ANY tournament ( per rule #15) or you will lose your show up points

Mosquito Lake FYI - For the members who plan on bringing a boat to Mosquito Lake next weekend, please see the following Ohio boating laws that will apply:

1. Anyone born after 1/1/82 must have a safe boaters certificate on their person while operating a boat

2. Every person on board a boat must have a type 1,2,3 or 5  life vest & a type 4 throwable device.

3. All boats must carry a anchor & rope capable of stopping the boat

4.A fire extingquisher must be carried in the boat

5. A visual distress signal ( flares) or distress flag must be carried in the boat

6. A audible signal ( air horn ) or whistle must be carried in the boat

Mosquito Lake Regulations

1. No fishing in the marina area

2. No wake zone 300' from shore

3. No wake zone from the marina to the white buoys in the bay

Well, the Potomac River tourney is in the books & what a great time it was! Derek Severns won the tourney with some last minute heroics catching a 4 pounder with just minutes remaining!

I want to thank Mike Stefan for taking care of the lodging & Dave Solties for bringing the groceries & being the camp cook for the weekend, without this kind of help, our club could not enjoy the weekend that we did.

As a side note, John Kline caught the biggest largemouth of his life during practice & also caught a MONSTER snakehead to boot

Guys, when you are signing up for the DISTRICT tournaments you will be asked for your club number...the number is 6961.  Also if you are sending in as a rider, please check with other members of the club that will be sending in as boaters, the two of you can send together which will guarantee you both to fish.  The spots are filling up fast on the boater side.

Many rules have been changed and updated, look for them to be posted in the upcoming weeks, a few new twists to next year should make for some fun fishing...we will have our first ever club buddy tournament, our first afternoon tournament and as always some new and exciting places to fish.  The classic will be at ERIE.

Do not miss the next meeting where the tournament locations and dates will be selected, this is a perfect time to have your voice heard in the club

Also club dues are to be in by the conclusion of the next meeting, if you do not plan on attending this meeting please make sure you get your money to Dan Laur prior to the meeting. The dues for 2012 are 150.00
